New York International Auto Show

The opening ceremony was surprisingly disrupted by a group of activists.

The New York International Auto Show, which ushers in the latest trends in the automotive industry, presented an incredible collection of cutting-edge designs and extraordinary innovations during the first week of April. More than two floors of exhibits from automakers around the world showcased the newest vehicles of the moment.

The exhibition was open to the public until 7 April. The opening ceremony, attended by elburgado.com's correspondent, attracted a large number of car enthusiasts. It began with the participation of the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Band, followed by a parade of high-performance sports cars, vintage vehicles, custom cars and much more.

The ceremony was surprisingly disrupted by a group of activists who showed their discontent with the car industry by spilling oil on the ground. The protesters chanted slogans such as "our love for cars is killing us, it's killing the earth". They were eventually escorted off the site by security personnel. No official arrests were made, hundreds of accredited media were told.

The inaugural event was not just about cars. Tracey Morgan, who received a kidney transplant 12 years ago, joined the Department of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Health, Donate Life and car dealers in the New York metropolitan area to talk about the importance of organ donation.

The show continued for several days, drawing thousands of car lovers to the Jacob Javits Center on 11th Avenue in the City of Skyscrapers to see and test drive some of the latest vehicles.

The New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) took place from 29 March to 7 April and not only showcased the future of driving, but also delivered a very important message that can help save lives today. Red Cross executive director Jose Dominguez received a donation of $25,000 from the show's president, Mark Schienberg, to help cover the cost of a new emergency response vehicle.
