Ana Barroso, waitress of Los Limoneros, passed away.

Ana Barroso Bello, waitress at the famous restaurant Los Limoneros, one of the best restaurants in the Canary Islands, died suddenly at her home in Los Realejos on Friday night. Ana was not yet 53 years old.

Ana was the soul of the restaurant. Her sense of humour, her savoir-faire and her way with customers defined the whole spirit of this establishment owned by the Gomeran businessman Mariano Ramos.

Her love for animals stood out. Her dog, whom she adored, had recently died, and her son had given her another dog, which she was raising and with which she died, probably because she did not leave her while she was at home. She died in her sleep.

Ana was a real institution at Los Limoneros, where she had worked for more than 18 years. She had an exquisite way with her colleagues, not to mention the customers, who adored her. She had specialised in organising banquets and had a special psychology when dealing with diners, about whom she knew everything there was to know about a member of the catering industry. That's why Ana never made a mistake. She accompanied some of her clients to her car and pampered them at all times.

He suffered from episodes of high blood pressure, according to some of his colleagues, although he was being treated for them. However, on the night of her death she said goodbye as usual to her colleagues before leaving by car for Los Realejos, where she lived. It was her son who found her lifeless in the morning, alarmed that she was not getting up. She was very fond of her only son, who was the dream of her life and they were very close.

The staff of Los Limoneros were very dejected today, after hearing the news. Mariano Ramos, the owner of the restaurant, was not even able to get on the phone with me. Ana was very special to all of us. I myself was in constant conversation with her, who had a special sense of humour. She was extremely polite and affectionate in her dealings. I was shocked by her unexpected and premature death. May she rest in peace.

  1. As always celebrating every outstanding event in "Los Limoneros" for more than thirty years, today my husband's 92nd birthday, we found out about Ana's sudden death asking for her, because we didn't see her. It was a tremendous shock and it affected us very much, she was a sunshine, brightening up the evening with her smile and her natural kindness, coming from the heart.
Our deepest condolences to his son and all his colleagues.
