Alarcó, moderator of a national conference on chronicity and ageing

Antonio Alarcó, Professor of Surgery at the University of La Laguna and Chair of Telemedicine, Robotics and Telesurgery at the ULL, is one of the health policy makers who will discuss strategies to prevent chronic diseases, improve care for chronic patients and make treatments more accessible and effective at the National Forum. The conference, organised by the Bamberg Foundation, will be held at the Royal National Academy of Medicine in Madrid.

The meeting represents a crucial opportunity to comprehensively address the problem of the chronification of diseases. Its aim is to seek solutions that improve the quality of life of patients and optimise the efficiency of the health system in Spain.

Topics to be discussed include the efficient management of chronic patients, the importance of adherence to treatment and the need to integrate the medical care of community and family doctors with that of other specialists.

In addition, issues such as equitable access to these treatments, financing and associated costs, as well as strategies to ensure the financial sustainability of the health system will be explored.

In short, the event will focus on the prevention, care and treatment of chronic diseases in order to successfully meet this challenge and improve the health of the population.
